A new Angus-Reid survey in Canada, Britain and USA shows that Canadians and Britons hold more permissive attitudes toward assisted suicide than Americans.
The online survey results were released July 26, 2012. In representative national samples, 80% of respondents in Canada and 77% in Britain support the idea of doctors assisting a competent, informed, terminally ill patient to end his or her life. Support is much lower in the United States, at 56%.
